After a successful North American Get Ready tour in May and June last year—incorporating 13 dates from Montreal to Buffalo and St. Louis to Miami—PETER HOOK & THE LIGHT have been around the world and are back again with an extensive, breathless, relentless, and quite honestly awe-inspiring World Tour, including the UK, Europe, China, Japan, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. While also managing to put in notable festival appearances at Benicassim, Primavera Sound, Kendall Calling, Bestival, Victorious, and an epic display, I was lucky enough to witness the show at the Rebellion Festivals

The second time around for North America sees them announce a further 21-date North American tour for August and September 2026, where they will perform the New Order album Get Ready in its entirety, alongside a selection of the most seminal tracks from the rich tapestry of the back catalogues of both Joy Division and New Order.

The Get Ready album was released in 2001 and reached #2 on the US Billboard Electronic Albums chart and #6 on the UK Albums chart. It was the seventh studio album from New Order and was dedicated by the band to Rob Gretton, manager of both Joy Division and New Order, who had died in 1999.

Get Ready" was a honeymoon record. Looking back now, it was very enjoyable to make, and I think it is massively underrated. It did sort the wheat from the chaff and led to a New Order mk2, which played better but had lost naivety whilst gaining maturity. Barney and I became a ‘power couple’ in Manchester during the making of the record, but, sadly, the old problems recurred when we came to play live. The writing was on the wall from then on. The two of us worked very hard to make this a great record, and I think we succeeded. I am looking forward to playing all the tracks, many of which had never been played live before these Get Ready dates. The Light will shine through …” PETER HOOK

Peter Hook first revisited the seminal Joy Division album Unknown Pleasures back in May 2010 for a commemorative charity concert and has followed it each year by performing subsequent albums from the repertoire of his bands, Joy Division and New Order. That dedication to his back catalogue has now seen him move through Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Still, Movement, Power Corruption & Lies, Low Life, Brotherhood, Technique, Republic and the Substance albums to arrive at Get Ready in 2025 and 2026. Having toured each album extensively, the band have now amassed well over 800 shows.

Anyone lucky enough to have seen these shows can bear witness and knows the quality of work on offer here. I think I have yet to see a neutral or nighsayer that has not been a converted fan after a PHATL show. These shows are not like any other, emotional or spiritual. Especially when you go into the Joy Division highlights of the set. From the very moment those iconic Hooky basslines announce tracks such as Shadowplay, Disorder, or Day of the Lords, kick-in-complemented by the stunning guitar work of David Potts, it has never failed to take me to a whole new sense of being and spiritual uplift and even shed a tear or two. It is very difficult to explain the feeling of being in a room with this band to someone who has not experienced it. But there is a very intense emotional and spiritual phenomenon that goes on that other bands simply cannot reach. "Otherworldly" is simply just not a strong enough word to explain the intensity. It is a very rare thing for me to be lost for words, but PHATL is a very rare thing, and God bless them for continuing to bring us these uncompromising tunes. If you miss them, I would feel it would be to your own later regret, I am sure.

I personally will feel it my duty to be present at every opportunity this band affords me to attend.
