FAQ
What is In Spite Magazine all about?
We're a publication celebrating underground music, DIY culture, and countercultural voices. From festival coverage and gritty live show reviews to artist interviews and punk scene commentary. We are not a punk rock magazine (though the majority of us are individually).
How can I submit my band for a feature or review?
Easy. Hit us up through email at editor@inspitemagazine.com. Include your EPK, streaming links, and some info about your band. Please note that we receive dozens of review requests every day and we can’t review everything. We do try our absolute best to do as many as we can!
Do you only cover punk stuff, or do you do all sorts of music?
Punk is home base but we’re down to cover anything that slaps with DIY energy, underground vibes, or a middle finger to the mainstream. That includes any alternative culture or business! Know of a protest? Got a tip or idea? Send it our way.
How often do you publish new stories?
We typically post articles once we have a few ready to go. Sometimes we trust a writer to publish their own articles once they finish it (We’re looking at you, Paul Holstein). Follow us on Instagram or Facebook to stay in the loop.
Can I get my concert or local show featured?
Hell yeah. We’d love to promote your show! Email us with your event details and artwork at editor@inspitemagazine.com. We love a good flyer. If you don’t have a flyer and need one made, reach out to our graphics editor / webmaster Paul Rotzler at paul.rotzler@inspitemagazine.com!
Can I write for In Spite?
We’re always looking for contributors with a passion for music, a quick wit, and a story to tell. Whether you’re into writing, photography, or illustration, send your pitch or portfolio to editor@inspitemagazine.com.
Is this a print or digital mag?
We’re primarily digital. Stay tuned for limited-edition prints and special releases.
Do you sell merch?
We do! Our store is small at the moment, but we are slowly expanding it to include things like shirts, print editions of our magazine, and more!
Why “In Spite”?
Because we thrive in spite of the noise, the system, and the odds.
