Phil Solem: Chuck Berry, Punk Rock, and a World Anthem

In this Q&A, Phil Solem talks Chuck Berry, his friendship and musical collaboration with the late Joey Molland, and the long, somewhat under-the-radar history of his band T.H.R.U.S.H. He also pulls back the curtain on writing the iconic Friends theme and illuminates the inspiration behind his politically charged song "Where Do We Go From Here?" From rock 'n' roll roots to a call for something bigger than national anthems, Solem has plenty to say and a few projects still up his sleeve.
