Get Ready for the Rebuilt Left hook

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the release of “Get Ready,” Peter Hook and the Light are embarking on a European tour. While the album in its entirety is a draw, selected hits and highlights of Peter Hook's gilded career can also be anticipated, touching on the vast catalog of classics from his tenure with Joy Division and New Order

We all have our favorites, so the mix of Joy Division and New Order classics they opt to perform will make each night uniquely special. Basically, how can you go wrong?

Hook unfortunately had to undergo rotator cuff surgery in August last year, and the healing time was longer than anticipated. This impacted some tour dates, which are now rescheduled into the 2026 European Tour; tickets from the original event are still valid for the current tour.

Anyone who has seen Peter Hook and the Light live already understands: this is about more than just nostalgia.

The low end still hits like architecture. For those of us that found these transcendental tracks to be more than just records but lifelines, this is a dream tour. Memories of the ’80s and '90s are still being performed live, still vibrating through ribcages, while gathering new generations at the barricade. The live arena is the place these tracks were born for and created to flourish in; everyone who has seen PH&TL already knows the special magic that these shows create.

It is more than just a regular rock & roll show; there is something about those tones, textures, and subtleties that they create live that connects you to something quite otherworldly. It always feels like I am exalted and in the presence of God's when they gift us with a track such as "Dead Souls" or "Day of the Lords" as soon as the intro starts.

Maybe it is all pure talent, or possibly the spirit of Ian Curtis that still comes back to infuse the atmospherics from the other side when this band takes the stage.

Who knows? There is something truly special that you cannot put your finger on that conjures up emotion and feelings you are not going to find from any other band.

It was made in Manchester with grime and sweat, red bricks, and soot. And the vibrations and emotions are all still there, loud and clear, just as prolific as they were the day these sounds first seeped out into the blanket of rain and fog, a grey gloom that embodied the hardships of Northern England of that era. Peter Hook and the Light will take you there and back and then beyond. They will bring you an experience that is worth every penny of the admission price.

Peter Hook and the Light, won’t stop there.

The tour continues on the road after this European leg with an Australian/New Zealand tour beginning in July. Then at last, for us Yanks, a North American tour playing most major cities commencing with Cleveland, Ohio, in August and continuing on through most of the month of September, with the final date being in Vancouver, Canada.
