Dcxpc: Celebration Summer/Wolf-Face split Live Vinyl

Coming October 24, the DCxPC split live show vinyl encapsulates the best of the modern punk scene. Capturing the live sets of Celebration Summer and Wolf-face at The Fest in Gainesville, Florida, the split vinyl acts as an invitation to get in on the fun. Both recordings perfectly encapsulate the experience of standing in the crowd, looking up in awe, heart pumping, as the corners of your mouth tear into a smile against your will. Whether you were present at these sets or not, the recordings perfectly showcase the energy of the live show.

Celebration Summer’s side presents an upbeat DC hardcore sound. A quartet from Virginia, formed in 2019, the band puts an emphasis on rhythm and emotional openness. The captured live set is a composite of the band's melodic, heavy, heartfelt sing-alongs that emphasize authenticity while also expressing the unfairness, frustration, pain, and fear of modern life within the current state of the country. It is both a euphoric release of emotion and a piece of crime scene evidence that gives a listener intense F.O.M.O., as any good live recording should.

On the other end is Wolf-face from St. Petersburg, Florida, fronted by Michael J. Wolf. The band has haunted stages for over a decade with their satirical humor and influences ranging from the Descendents all the way to the Misfits. The live recording captures the band's onstage theatrics, banter between members, and the enthusiastic howls of the crowd. The band's choice of songs present on their set list explores ideas of birth, self-acceptance, and doing things on your own terms through an upbeat, angsty horror lens. Thematically combining the two sets through an undertone of introspective emotions and a release of lycanthropic teeth gnashing.

The split live album will be released on October 24th, limited to 200 Summer Moon vinyl copies. The two live sets stand as two ends of a very connected spectrum. One presents a beloved up-and-comer, and the other showcases a staple of contemporary DIY punk, connected through their expressive jumpkicking catharsis. It’s a collection that captures the energy, excitement, and absurdity of the live punk experience, offering fans a chance to relive two missed sets or cherish the memory of the explosive event, as the vinyl is the best representation of both groups' authentic spirits and attitudes.
